I wanted to create a forum thread for nuts and bolts fixes to progressive leagues problems...being in quite a few leagues there are issues needing to be addressed.
let me start off with one that is starting to hit home...although I am an east coast guy there is real unfairness to those on the west coast..i do not see every possible effort being made to accommodate every time zone...very overly one sided to the east.in most leagues. it can be fixed. ill let some others comment first.
more issues to follow...I hope we can have some level headed constructive discussions that can help to better the prog leagues that many of us really enjoy participating in.
I don't really see the timezones as a huge issue.

Culture is a bit different out here on the west coast. A 7AM pick is no issue for me. I'd rather have that then a 10PM pick. (6AM might be slightly early but if I get it I can get up early for one week, which there are a good number of days I would be anyway, depending on circumstances for me.)

i am in central  time zone difference is only a hour and really makes no difference. now for another topic or sore point in the progressive world, people who open SM's for trade offers and don't respond.  our individual leagues are a small group of 16 to 24 owners who in my opinion should be more attentive to the needs of the group.it seems to me the point of progs should be as much about the togetherness of the group as a whole to keep the group together. yes this grip may be pie in the sky posturing and i am sure there are those who say oh well maybe life has them busy or maybe they are weighing other offers it seems to me a common courtesy to your fellow league members to at least acknowledge the offer

In the NWP, we have members who live anywhere from the West Coast (3 hours behind US Eastern time) to Italy (6 hours ahead).  That 9 hour span means no matter what we do, someone is going to be inconvenienced.

Commissioners should absolutely take into account the locations/preferences of individual owners, but there is no way to keep everyone happy.

In any case, protesting an East Coast bias would be more William Jennings Bryan than Teddy Roosevelt.

Though even among Progressive Parties I preferred Robert LaFollette !

Still a Debs man though. Oh well, those were the good old days when you could choose between these kind of politicians and a bad day was having to vote for Woodrow Wilson who had a PhD and had been President of Princeton.

Now?

Living in Hawaii (ET minus 6 hours)  causes difficulties if I have an early draft pick.  But somehow it's exciting to jump out of  bed at 4AM to see through groggy eyes whether or not my guy is available. No worries here.  Not sure what they could do about time zones anyway.

Just remember one thing, a draft is only as good as a leagues worst member.
