Put all their practice time into learning the offense and defense? What circumstances lead to the reason behind it? Just wondering

A long time ago, when players skills never regressed, I would sometimes put all my practice time into OFF and DEF. Now, however, your players' individual skills will regress if you don't adequately practice them.

Thanks for the input, I have a very young team and starting over offensively and defensively. I gonna do a test for about 5 games with all the time going into the o and d and see how quickly it changes. It may be feasible to do this over a short time and lose little individual skill. My team will not really be any good for a while now

There are limited returns for excessive minutes. In other words, the improvement slows down when the minutes get too high. I'm not sure what the limit is, but I never go over 25 minutes on OFF and DEF

this... joco i've pushed up in the 30s and it adds almost 0 value, 20-25 is a reasonable range, usually on the lower end for lower divisions IMO, so if you go up to 25/25 i think you really are getting about as fast of growth as you can get...

today's skills may technically regress in the sense that -.05 is still technically a regression. but for practical purposes, maxed out ratings do not regress. i 0 out a ton of stuff, rarely do i see even a single point drop, its less than 1 drop for every 10 ratings i 0 out.

I appreciate the responses. I guess there are built in factors in practice planning, probably what you guys have did about the 20-25 threshold

I tried using fewer minutes on offense and defense (18 on each) because I liked seeing my players improve as much and as quickly as possible. However, someone pointed out that that just means your players reach their ceilings much faster. He (I don't remember who) said he'd rather have early IQ growth and later individual growth than the other way around. I have since moved my offense and defense to 20 each and might be increasing it even more.

so far Ive done the 65mins for two cycles and I have shown good improvement. Enough for me to continue for a cycle or two....The players work ethic is moving up and so far the loses are null to minimum.

if they are starting out at F, they will progress to the C range quickly anyway. I never go above 25, and always go between 20-25. If I have a young team, I stay closer to 20 so the players can improve a lot on their core values. If I have an experienced team with a few players that are maxed out at their values, then I will go to 25
