Keith Lucero, who is on my Div-3 team in Naismith.
He has a Work Ethic rating of 2, and has hit only 4 of his last 36 free throws.
He has started the year by going 9 for 26.
That brings his overall numbers to 13-for-62, equaling 21%.
This past game he went 1 for 8.

I picked him to provide an athletic defense-minded rebounder, and got him cheap because of his WE.
He's done what I've asked him to, but can't hit free throws.

Hard to imagine a player playing pretty solid positional defense, yet having absolutely no work ethic.

On a side note, Lucero has started every game over 2 seasons, 49 total so far.
Averages 21 minutes a game.
His WE has doubled! ... to a "2"...

I have experimented by giving him 35 minutes in footwork practice.
Last year he improved 3 ratings points, then dropped 2 points in the offseason.
This season he's improved 3 points again so far, after 21 games.

Here's an update on Keith Lucero's free throw percentage:

Thru 24 games of his junior year in Naismith on my Albertus team:
JR: 7-for-30, or 23.3%
SOPH: 17-for-76, or 22.4%.
FR: 4-for-16, or 25.0%.
TOTAL: 28-for-122, or 23.0%.

His FT rating is still an F, because it can't improve with a Work Ethic of 2.
In high school, i think his FT% was 51.1%. Too bad he couldn't at least match that...!
