I have a player on my team that I took over mid-season that has 4 yrs ML experience and is arb eligible. However, next season I do not want to pay him the money his is probably looking for - good defense but can't hit SS. Should I just waive him and get rid of him before the season ends, or wait until arb hearing next year? Is there any harm waiting on him? I don't want to pay his salary for next season.
