AAA Pitchers Stamina Topic

The so-called stamina letter for so-called starters is WAY over stated.

Why?  Stamina refers to IP/G...how deep into the game the pitcher can go without getting tired.

It is very precisely defined:

Rating                 Range
   A                     7.00 and up
   B                     6.00 to 7.00
   C                     4.00 to 6.00
   D                     2.00 to 4.00
   E                     1.00 to 2.00
   F                     0.00 to 1.00

Yes, it's IP/G.  He could be an A stamina with only 30 innings on the season! To me the hitter contact stat. singles  per 100 at bats is the most misrepresentative because it doesn't reflect doubles and triples ability. A 10 contact hitter could be a pathetic .230 hitter with no doubles, triples or homers.

I agree with the Cwillis method. Why the mystery? Why should we have to look them up. This is why most of the people who frequent the forums win so much and other unsuspecting Newbies get fleeced in trades or simply don't use their rookies 'properly'. This creates an unfair advantage that I don't enjoy. In each and every league, I usually go out of my way to educate the victims of this charade, and help them either know who their rookies are or direct them to where they can help themselves. This is the reason why I only play in about one or two OL's a year.  Hopefully others are helping others and aren't simply enjoying their watered down victories.

I assume you're referring to Ollie Landis in MLB114302.

He's the 1904 Andy Coakley.  Not a bad draw: 1.15 WHIP, .215 OAV.  Pitched 67 innings total.  Has an IP/G of 7.75 (hence the A stamina.)

Did you really think you were getting someone with those kinds of stats who was going to be able to throw 200 innings?

The OP has played 45,000 games of SLB.... he's not exactly a newbie.

I take it that he knows what it means and may have looked it up already but like me wonders about the actual point and misleading nature of what seems to be an all encompassing top designation for stamina.

I don't disagree that the disguising of AAA players is pointless.

Agreed. Why mask a random selection? Perhaps offer OL play that allows pick 'em AAA..

I think AAA should be a theme league option only.  Up the OL salary cap to 90M and be done with AAA.

Or, make OL AAA below average.  With average AAA, there are too many of them who can have an impact at that cap.

Yes. I have seen a AAA player win an OL batting title...

Thank you all for the lessons. Even though I've played thousands of games; I never bothered to learn the AAA formulas. I guess that's why I don't include AAA in my theme leagues.
