you can definitely sacrifice any of those things if the player excels in other areas, especially if you're happy getting a solid career backup. for example, i just had a guard on my arizona team in smith who ended up 90+ at spd, per, and bh, but was only 50 in ath and def and maybe 65 in passing. never started a game but was a double digit scorer off the bench. i don't have specific examples, but for frontcourt players who are sort of the lower tier of my recruiting targets, i don't worry too about passing, speed, or bh. not saying they aren't valuable, but i think some of the advice on here can be a bit utopian, and those attributes are luxuries when you're getting down to being a realist and not just chasing guys you won't get. and i think those sorts of players are effective enough, bang for your buck, for rebuilds or as cheap backups, provided they are high ath/def and maybe can score etc. point being, they still need to be really good at something.
