Is there any chance of landing a job when it says "Not qualified"?

Gonna hijack this thread since it is answered. How am I a "longshot" for a C prestige, DI school in a Big 6 conference yet I get "keep looking" for two D+ schools in a Big 6 conference

Long shot is ALMOST always the same as keep looking......I doubt many ever got a long shot job

Any chance the baseline prestige for the C school is lower than for the D+ schools?

Well now that I got rejected...Oregon State was the longshot and Kansas State and Fresno State were the other two

I think baseline could be part of the reason.  I have the Beavers as a B baseline and KSt and Fresno as B-.

its more like mid single digits, not .00001% :) well - that is that you are qualified! if you are immediately rejected (at the next cycle, same cycles as recruiting), then you weren't qualified. but if you aren't, if the application stays open a bit, then you are qualified, and will get the job if nobody else applies. however, typically BCS jobs which are what people are putting in longshot applications to, have more than 1 application, and usually you will end up losing on that. i have had multiple longshot jobs i was qualified for, it could be even close to 10% that you are qualified. but typically even then you'll still lose out.
