I don't think it's immediate. When I redshirt a guy it usually takes a little while before I get his e-mail. I have never looked to the ratings to see if its immediate. I always had waited till I got his e-mail. But it runs in some sort of cycle during the day sometimes it only takes an hr sometimes its a couple hrs before I get his e-mail.
I'm not sure what the cycle is though sorry.

They happen after the first 3 hour cycle.  So if you put the redshirt on before 2pm, it would have happened already.  If not, you'll see after 5pm.  Also, I think Work Ethic is the only thing that could drop directly from the redshirt.  Don't think any other ratings can take a hit.

Right.. You get one email from the administration saying they did the paperwork and one from the player during the normal 3 hour cycle.

And as Dan said.. Only WE changes.

They also took away the bug where you can do it multiple times and he might accept. First time if he does not accept then he never will, and doing the same player multiple time makes them mad and they say 'make up your mind' and drop to 1 WE.
