New "Cookies"??? Topic

The recent (Long overdue) salary adjustment to players makes drafting much more interesting and fun!!!

Many of the usual "cookies" suddenly are not so affordable in a typical open league. I've also noticed that many of the $200,000 players I typically use to fill out a roster have gone up in price. (LOVE it!!! Thank you WIS for challenging all of us who play the game on a regular basis!!!)

That being said, I have noticed (so far) a few players who have gone down in price...

1981 Jeff Reardon is a couple hundred thousand dollars cheaper...
1975 Billy North dropped by about $350,000
1962 Willie Davis went down by around $250,000

It's early, and I only have a few so far...Since I shared some, hoping that some of you will as well!!! (Let's all help each other out here!!!)
When I find some more, by all means, I will post them!!!

I don't have the stats anymore, but just a few weeks ago 1962 Willie Davis killed for my 1962 Dodgers in a theme league of teams that would have been in the playoffs had the wildcard always existed, so against teams from most of the 20th century.

...and was Miller Huggins 1912 always so cheap? If so why weren't we using him?

Just as I predicted In earlier post. Part time bargains did not rise much in cost. Most not at all. It goes against convention for these players to ever be overused. The thing to do is to platoon.

Agreed. I don't plan on drafting more than one 200K guy in most cases though I've already found there to be exceptions to that.

Salary wise he's equal to '99 Castillo. I would take Castillo over Huggins. ..my 2 cents is he's not underpaid. Huggins will walk more, but offers no XBH ability. Castillo has SB/SBA north of .700...

I always draft some 220k guys, and then drop them in exchange for AAA players. (Leaves more $$$ to spend on everyday players) I rarely use them for even one PA...

oops... 200k, not 220

Perhaps Joss will drop so crimsonblue can use him, seeing how he loves cookies... ;)
Ouch!  A baseless and unprovoked shot. Lets examine the psyche and get some information from what's actually happening,.....In the only theme league that we're in together, my 08 Joss is 24-12 and your 08 Joss is a standard deviation shattering, run support lacking 14-19. Perhaps you feel this way because my Joss just seems to work better.. :)
