Knocking off a SIM Topic

There is no way I can know how tight is a SIM with a player, he is an international. But every effort I put forward on this recruit seems to be taken but he never considers me and it seems the message are stuck at neutral.

Will I ever get considering credit on this? When is it time to give up?

I don't think you get considering credit until you are considered. I am not 100% sure on this though. It shouldn't really matter though, if you are that far behind you won't be catching up.

You can estimate the effort the sim put in based on the status of it's other recruits and the amount of open scholarships. I used to be have more accurate #'s but it was to hard to keep track of my I estimate that the sims #1 choice gets 30-40% of it's budget, the #2 choice gets 20-30% of it's budget and the #3 choice gets roughly 10%.

I hope that helps.

It does

Yes you do get considering credit when not being considered but it is guaranteed to have less worth for you than the sim who both has more effort in and did it first. Your case is why it's dangerous to go after a sim without knowing WOTS.

Are there certain status messages in WOTS that reveal any clues about whether a recruit is 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice of a sim?

Not exactly. There are different levels of WOTS that can clue you in to how high of a priority the kid is for the sim and the higher the priority the more effort the sim has into the kid.

20k against a sim ... He signs right off at the signing cycle. Increduble!

If you think about it $20K gets you roughly 13 HVs worth of effort. I don't know what your prestige is vs the sims,' but 13 HVs for the sim costs < $6K. Big difference in how much bang you get for your buck.

Remember Sims recruit at 200 miles.. With a long distance international that is a significant hit.

Yeah, I am still angry I lost out on this international kid. I thought I could catch up but with the distance logic you guys are putting forth, I guess I was overconfident.

Thanks. Would anybody be willing to share a few examples? Or is there an old thread I can refer to? Thanks again.

There's a few levels of wots. If the sim is tight or a high priority then it's spend around 20 hvs......maybe less at d1 and high prestige. At d2 usually only one recruit is tight.

Here are the different WOTS messages. Now, I've seen several top coaches say there are only 2 levels (where my weak and medium are just one level and then the strong messages are the 2nd level). But I just don't see it. Those medium level messages always seem to require more effort to get ahead of a school than the weak messages.

Weak WOTS
  1. Bloomfield is the early frontrunner but the family tells us he's not sold.
  2. Some attention from Bloomfield, but he's keeping his options wide open.
  3. Had some attention from Bloomfield but our sources say he's very open to other offers.
Medium WOTS
  1. Sources say he’s definitely leaning towards playing at Bloomfield but he’s not 100% sold.
  2. Bloomfield appears to be the favorite-for now.
  3. Bloomfield likes him but he may not be a priority for them.
Strong WOTS
  1. Seems *very* solid on Marshall.
  2. Our insiders say that he's a very high priority for St. Johns.
  3. St. Johns seems to be *very* tight with him, according to our sources.
