- Minutes Played must be 1600 minutes or less (set your filters)
- No Rookies
- No WW
- No Clones
- $41M cap

Can you unleash the power of the partial season, while managing a limited supply of minutes ?

Sound interesting ?!

I've always liked partial seasons and I'd be interested in something like this. However, I'd be more interested in 1968 minutes or less and a $42M cap. I actually like rookies and the option of the WW but for the purposes of the theme could live without them.

Although I like the idea of several partial seasons, I think there are a few issues with this as it stands. Obviously 1600x12 leaves you a little short of the required minutes. Even though everybody will be in the same boat, if you don't stay close to the limit you will have (what I believe anyway) will be serious fatigue issues. The major item I don't like is there will probably be a very small set of players used. I think almost everyone will have a significant portion of their roster being identical to the others in the league. I say this because there are only 321 individual seasons between 1550-1600 minutes. We need 288 players to fill the rosters. Taking an average of 1575 minutes per player you would have 18900 in total. Any venturing outside the 321 players will just reduce that total even more. Therefore I think everyone will primarily pick from this pool making the teams too similar (my opinion).

I am currently in a league that caps the defensive rating at 49 or less. I signed up and when we started I found there were way too many teams with the same players. I didn't realize it would turn out like that. The other owners may not mind, but I don't like looking at the leader page and seeing 17 of the top 25 spots filled by 2 players. Each of the 2 players were the identical season. Of the 288 players in that league approx. 170 of the spots are unique player/season combos. As for unique players regardless of season there are only around 160. I have no idea how/if anyone feels or knew about that possibility when we joined. I am enjoying this league. As expected, tons of offense. But for me I like more variability in team rosters.

As for this theme, this issue may have been considered and deemed not to be an problem. That's fine. I just wanted to toss it out there. As I said I'm interested. Maybe we could have 2 or 3 full (any minute level) seasons and all others partial. Just a thought. I'm not looking to squelch any ideas. I think more variety in theme league options is a great idea.

Raising the minute bar to somewhere between 1640-1650 expands the pool by 250-330.

If this is a "post your team" league, then 1650 may be good enough ?
If this ends up being a "draft" league, then perhaps 1700 minutes as the ceiling ?
Fatigue becomes a "push your luck" aspect of the draft.

Perhaps 5 draft rounds to pick 7 players, and then fill roster from undrafted, subject to the same minute cap.

I've been playing around with this. 1700 minutes as the per player ceiling theoretically gives you enough minutes, but not much leeway in player selection if you're focused on managing fatigue. I love partial minutes theme leagues, but in my experience you've got to get up to about 2000 minutes per player in order to see interesting variation in team composition. Just one fella's opinion.

yep, 1600 x 12 = 19200 minutes = not quite enough - also don't like the cap that low otherwise I'm intrigued

1700 * 12 = 20,400 (or as much margin as you want)

So, probably a 43-45M cap

Would preference be?
- short draft plus fill in from undrafted (there will be some variation)
- build team offline and post

Note, that I'm open to holding a series of private exhibitions (42M cap) for offline team build at 1700/1800/1900/2000 limits, just to get a feel.
Only need 5 other owners for that :-)

Also, if at larger max minutes, what about also having a min of 1000 minutes?
Hmmm... that would be a 1Kto2K league @45M, I guess
