I remember a while back you could bet with fake money on games from hoops dynasty. Is that still around, if so where?

They closed the sportsbook a long time ago.

the last 6 or 8 months before they shut it down there were typically only a handful of people using it, and if you got a lead in the first few days everyone else quit trying. Won a few times by getting a lead and being active for a week then only checking in every few days to see if anyone else had decided to take a peek and notice I wasn't doing anything - if anyone else started getting points I'd go back to it...

as a "fun game" it sucked coz there was no one around, but as a way to earn some credits to support my HD crack habit it was nice....

I remember it from when I played back when. I wish they would bring it back. That was actually one of the first things I looked for when I signed back up!

I dont know what it was like if/when there were numerous people playing it, but at the end, if you started on day one and just searched out the 10 biggest point spreads and bet for the underdog to cover you had a decent shot at winning the whole thing...most days I could do that with teams favored by 50 or more - and those almost never cover...

Yeah, they would need to fix the point spread calculations in the actual game before they could bring back whatifsportsbook as dacj noted.

There were too many ways to exploit the game and too few people were playing it...I also feel like seble (or whomever was in charge if this was pre-seble), shut it down for other reasons just related to "simulated betting". I remember some weird statement coming out about that, but I could be wrong.
