Inform of RS for a JUCO Topic

Just an interesting thought I was having about informing a JUCO of a redshirt. Does it take more effort than it would for a high school player to get them to agree to it?

No. About 3 HV's works after the inform.

Good to know. Thought about doing that this cycle since I have 3 senior bigs and need to get some class balance. Figured it might be an intriguing strategy to get a 2 year big but red shirt them since I don't have a need this year but next. GET an extra year to take advantage of the sometimes crazy growth JUCOs have and increase IQ.

I have not found this to be accurate at all. It has taken 3 CVs, not 3 HVs to get a JUCO to accept a R/S.

It depends on how much effort is put in before hand, I guess. Three HV's almost always work for me.

I just did it this past recruiting session. 3 HVs worked for me but he was a pull down so I sent him 10 STs before.

For what it's worth, I like the strategy. Can get some real good players this way. This Mann dude should contribute nicely in 2 seasons.

I just did this with this guy.

I'm not sure if other people can see the recruiting history tab, but at the same time I sent the redshirt I also sent 3 home visits and 3 scouting trips. Before redshirting him I already had 9 home visits invested. ( I think a DI school showed up on him for a minute but obviously wasnt very interestd)
