Recruiting Advice Topic

What stats would you say are the most important when recruiting in DII/DIII? I am still very new to HD, I was wondering what everyone has to say on this topic.

It seems to be that if you outclass the other team in ATH/DEF, you just simple wins games, no matter the other stats. Maybe I am wrong.

Are ATH/DEF the most important factors when recruiting?

Many will argue this back and forth and it really depends on the style your playing. IMO ATH/DEF is very important as I think the game over powers those two together. Look at any Dickson team that myers runs and he runs them well. But its not the only thing you need. Guards you need SPD/BH/PASS or you will turn the ball over a lot. In bigs you need ATH/REB and SB doesn't hurt and of course you need DEF in all if not most players. And you'll need to Have some PE/LP somewhere to score. Its a give and take not all players need to be stars but you need most players to be good at something.

This is true about ATH/DEF for sure, good advice. I feel i'm just now exiting the "new" label, I focused on DEF. Straight DEF and strong cores (SPD for guards and ATH for SF/PF/C) Regardless of other stats if you can focus on Cores and DEF, your team can easily become a SIM killer. The trick is then finding these cores and coupling it with your offensive style / what the position needs. For me running motion I need BH/P heavy where as if you were running Fastbreak you would need more speed than i would. At the start honestly just get your DEF high enough to guard any team then start building it up from there. Thats what I did and I feel like its working.

No. They aren't. Sorta. At least not completely.

IMO, there is no "most important attribute" because the game is a series of complicated equations with many different factors.

ATH and SPEED are valuable because they are the only attributes used in multiple decisions for both offense and defense. Because of that, having ATH and SPEED help in many different equation..
