Informed redshirt question Topic

I informed this juco that I wanted to redshirt him somewhat late into recruiting, just before signings. I sent it along with a hv, and he gave me this message "Hey coach, I've had some time to think about it and I don't want to sit next season. I'm sure I can contribute right now. I'm going to look at some other options."

i then sent 3 HVs the next cycle and hes "defiantly leaning towards me" in WOTS

its getting late in signings and he's still not signed, even though the only other person on him is a sim. Because I didn't send enough HVs with him at the start did I ruin the whole thing? Or is he just taking a while to sign.

Never mind, he signed, "patience is a virtue my young padawon."

the inform of redshirt button is like negative recruiting effort - usually can be offset by modest added positive effort - not always

IMO the move of informing of redshirt to a JUCO is one of the best recruiting tactics you can use. That extra year of development, especially if they don't come in knowing your O/D, is invaluable. The chances of a JUCO accepting a redshirt without informing first is very low, and the negative recruiting effort can easily be offset.

This guy is going to be a great D2 player

he's high in PE, BH, and SPD. He's average in DE, ATH, P, and STAM. I redshirted him because he has so much potential left and it would be a sham to have him not max it out.

Don't overlook the importance of that 75.4% FT either.
