Anyone else notice a marked increase in ineligible players passing their SAT's and becoming eligible under the new engine, or did I just get a quirky pool of kids this time around?

Admittedly, I'd never be tracking kids this early in the process in the previous recruiting process, but Rupp is only 9 games into the non-conference and I've had 3 players who started as ineligibles pass their SAT's to become eligible...which is probably as many as I'd see in 15 seasons or so formerly.

I don't remember anything being said in the beta about rate of change for ineligibles becoming eligible being tinkered with, but if this is the rate, offering promises to lure ineligibles to campus will definitely be a riskier proposition.

I noticed it in beta. I never tracked it either, but it was pretty noticeable.

I just got done recruiting over 1000 kids in Allen (2.0) for one last experiment. I just looked back at the emails, and I got a handful of emails about inels failing their SATs during recruiting, 0 about any passing during the window.

Maybe not a big enough sample size to matter, but I wouldn't be surprised if you're right.

the kids have to be smarter to handle the new recruiting system

Not sure. I do recall many kids becoming eligible in-season during 2.0. Especially at D1, I will put local targets in my recruiting list early in the season. Often enough, some emails will be sent that so-&-so has gained his eligibility. So, I don't think this has changed very much, but there is DEFINITELY a chance that a recruit signed "Ineligible" during the in-season recruiting session will become eligible before the end of the season.

So, without a change to the underlying logic, moving the 1st recruiting session in-season means that there is a substantial chance that your ineligible (whom you promised playing time & starts with no intention of following through) may become eligible after signing now. My guess is that there will remain very little chance of that once off-season recruiting session starts.
