early entries/late recruiting period Topic

I am enjoying the new game so far but early entries are a mess. If you have multiple, there is no way you can recover because once the late signing period starts, guys are signing in the first and second cycles before you would even have a chance to open them up for a scholarship. I used 50 attention points on a guy and wasn't even able to offer him a scholarship yet. He then signed the next cycle with another school. I moved the 50 attention points to another player, he signed the next cycle with another school before I could offer him. If a guy is considered likely to go pro, you should get more attention and recruiting points to try to gain traction. This is also going to screw over anyone that leaves for another job. The other solution would be to have a late recruiting period that lasts a few days before signings begin. This allows new coaches and guys with early entries to have a chance to make up ground. Its really a major problem that needs to be fixed. So far, thats my main issue, although I like many of the changes.

Yes, 100%. I mean seriously u only get half the attention points of regular SR so they should atleast dbl the att pts for EE to allow a coach to close the gap. And yes signings should hold for atleast 2 cycles during the 2nd period

To some degree, the answer is that one needs to plan ahead for EEs - devote AP's in the first cycle to late signing guys who MAY be useful for your EEs. This tends to mean that planning for EEs will cripple recruiting in the first cycle - Lets say you have 3 openings and think you are likely to have 2 EEs. You now have 3 slots worth of AP to try to make progress on 5 openings. Big negative.

Even with planning, I think current setup makes it very hard to replace an EE with a serviceable DI player - not talking elite, talking a guy who belongs in DI

The even tougher challenge will be the unexpected EE. The big board is probabalistic - so one can be hit by one or more surprising EEs - or different EEs than you planned. Really hard to cope with surprising EE.

This issue will be self-correcting to some degree, IMO. I think the days of multiple teams having 3+ EEs are over. I think the talent will be a little more evenly distributed across the board, thereby making EEs less of an issue- or at least, a more spread out issue and less impactful on specific teams.. I know of a couple of C+ prestige teams that will be also having EEs in a year or two based on recent recruiting results.

That's the thing these mid-majors going all-in for 4-5 star players are going to have to start thinking about. You win the guy, now what? You may lose him in a season or two, so you better have some more ammunition, or its immediately back to square one.
