Newby Recruiting Question Topic

Have taken over a team and I'm in my first cycle of recruiting. I inherited a team made up entirely of Seniors and Freshmen. As a result, I will not have any seniors on the team next year.

Question: if I have no seniors next year, what will my scouting budget be? Will it be $0, or some minimum amount that I can spend to scout players?

I'm reserving the possibility of rescinding a scholarship or two after next season to balance out my team a little more.

Thanks in advance.

At D3, you have a 15k base, so you can do some scouting, if there are some guys you want to cut at the end of the year.

I assume you mean $1500, not $15,000. If it's $15,000, I got squeezed this year.

It's 15k, plus 2k per opening at D3. Or are you asking about recruiting? For recruiting, you'll have a 1k base, plus 1k per opening.

If you haven't seen it yet, the scouting and recruiting guide is quite helpful for this kind of info.

You could still scout and recruit a player or two, then cut any of the freshmen that are really bad.

I didn't want to create a new thread, but had a separate question.
If i have a possible recruit who i promised 10 minutes a game to, and i wanted to upgrade it to 15 or 20 minutes a game... would all my previous recruiting effort/bonus with the 10 minute bonus be wiped out? Is it best to just keep it at 10 minutes if i already have spent hundreds of AP and $ on the player with the 10 minute promise?

It doesn't get wiped out. Just the recruiting actions from that point on will take into account the 15 minutes so they're worth a little more. (if he has wants to play preference).

If he doesn't have the preference of wants to play then it just will give you a slight bump in recruiting credit.

With this player there is no preference to play, but as long as it wont hurt me in anyway in terms of recruiting it is something i will go ahead and do. Thank you.
