Mind if I give you some tips on your team
- Why is honeycutt playing SF? He's your best PG. By a lot. At worst, he should be SG.
- Please cut Matsuda. That ath and def makes me really sad.
- The engine doesn't really like it when one guy takes all the shots. There is some sort of adjustment where his efficiency will plummet if he takes greater than 40% of the shots or something.
- Where are all your guards? you have 4 Freshmen bigs to go along with your Soph big (who you should cut immediately). Try to balance out your roster and make sure you'll always be able to start upperclassmen at all positions. Next season you are in TROUBLE as you'll have to start a guy at PG with about 30 pass.
- Your bigs ath/def is pretty low. That might be okay if they were monsters in reb/blk but they aren't. Try not to get bigs with ath/def below 40. That's about bare min.
I always play Honeycutt on the worst defender between pg,sg, and sf. I will recruit 3 point guards this year. But why didn't Terry take any shots when I set him to 50? I'm still learning, but want to have fun anyways. I'm not going to win anything this year, so I want Honeycutt to be the scoring leader. Actually, hitting 38% of threes with all the shots he takes is pretty effective. Equates to 57% in twos.
Okay, I understand, you're trying to get a better matchup.
Well, in press, players are always doubling. So even though their SF is a weak defender, it's not like a 1 on 1 matchup.
I think you should look to put the players in their most suited position first and then go from there. It's hard sometimes not to overthink this game but it can happen.
Also, 38% isn't bad at all but in HD, guys will regularly shoot 45% from from 3 even when taking A TON. It doesn't really mimic real life that way. Not saying he's doing poorly but he'd just be more efficient if playing SG or PG and taking fewer shots.
As for why that guy didn't shoot, that is a little weird but not too surprising actually. I've found that it is really hard to get your Center to take a lot of shots. They just won't do it, I don't know why.
