#5 Colorado @ #25 Brooklyn
Vegas Line: Colorado favored by 8 points
Over/Under: 133

Bon James Bond flies his undefeated and untested Colorado team into the heart of the tri-state area to take on yours truly for tonight's game of the night.

Colorado has rolled through non-con play winning by an average of 25 points. They are hitting 53% of their shots and over 42% of their 3FGAs. Colorado has a balanced motion attack with 5 players averaging between 7.4 and 10.4 points per game. Their press defense has been stingy forcing 19 TO's per game and limiting their opponents to a FG% under 40 and a 3FG% in the low 20's.

Brooklyn is coming off an overtime defeat at the hands of Dallas (1-4 but a very good 1-4). They don't shoot well (43%) suck from downtown (only 4 per game), turn the ball over alot (15.4 to/g) and are generally over rated. "We are slow, can't defend, can't shoot, and the post players have an odd smell to them," says Coach Trenton Joe.

Lay the points, take the over.

OVERTIME

Robert Farmer (11 points, 5 rebounds) hits a turn around jumper with 0:03 seconds left to tie the game and send the game into OT. Then Brooklyn hits 4 FT's in the last 30 seconds of OT to secure the win. It was ugly, there was ton of tired players, but a good game. Reuben Bryant wins player of the game with 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. All prime numbers, just sayin'.

In another bicoastal game BenRudy flies his Cal. Tech CS101's across country from LAX to, um, Montreal?, to take on the upstart St. Lawrence Ice Fishermanguys. Coach Ish is apparently is allergic to 3 pointers cause they don't shoot many but they do play some suffocating D (41FG% and 26% 3FG%). Offensively, they get to the line and hit those pesky FT's at a high clip (78%). Brooklyn will be going upstate in the off season for pointers on that....

Cal Tech runs a 9 man rotation with no Sr.'s. Bad news for the rest of us with title hopes the next few seasons. They are led by the pride of Salinas, PR, Esteban Meija. Esteban, called Esteban by his friends, averages like 21 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a dozen phone #'s a night. I am going out on a limb and saying the young man from the commonwealth has never been to St. Lawrence, NY. If he returns next season there might be some paternity suits.

I think Cal Tech wins by 8 or so but, and this is a big but, if Coach Ish is successful in moving the game to the courts at Riverside Elementary School, the cold may affect Esteban. If he gets into foul trouble, St. Lawrence could pull off the victory.

FINAL - 2/9/2017
1 2 F
#22 California Tech. 32 35 67
#18 St. Lawrence 25 40 65

Esteban Meija misses a FT in the final seconds but Christopher Nava comes up just short at the buzzer and Cal Tech holds off St. Lawrence.
Meija dominates (28 points, 8 assists, 5 steals) as expected and St. Lawrence punishes Cal Tech for playing a -5 by going 5-10 behind the arc.
Great game by two newish coaches.

Matchup
#7 CSU, Eastbay (6-1) at #21 Palm Beach Atlantic (5-2)
Vegas Line: CSU, Eastbay favored by 3 points
Over/Under: 141

There are actually a bunch of good games tonight but BOOMCITY coaches CSU, Eastbay and it's a pretty awesome name and I want to see how many times I can type BOOMCITY in one post.

But enough, for now, of BOOMCITY, Palm Beach Atlantic runs a fast pace, fastbreak offense (85 ppg) that starts with POTY candidate Winford Gerlach, which if your name isn't BOOMCITY it might as well be Winford Gerlach. Gerlach is pretty damn good, averaging 25ish points per game with reasonably efficiency. BOOMCITY's CSUEB is going to have a hard time slowing him down.

BOOMCITY's CSU,EB team is super athletic (66 ATH) and super defensive (70 DEF). They have help their opponents to 37% FG and 27% 3FG. Which is, you know, really good. They run a typical motion offense with 7 guys averaging between 6-10 ppg. James Putt "the ball in the basket" is their only perimeter threat averaging 5.5 3FGA per game.

I think BOOMCITY's (it had been 4 sentences) CSU, Eastbay team is the better team and will probably go farther in the NT but I am picking PBA +3 tonight. I think PBA is going to force 20+ turnovers and I just don't see CSU, EB being able to overcome the easy points that those bad boys cause. I like PBA out right but I'll take the points. I half *** like the over and since this doesn't cost nothing I will go ahead and take it.
