I normally don't ask this sort of thing but I'm stuck. 1st guy looks better to me but he's practically the same guy I'm replacing and he was a disappointment. I'm weak with rebounding help from SF/SG/PG(90+ with C). Neither will have to play next season so I've got a year of development.

The second guy doesn't like like he is now, nor will develop to be, a PF. He looks more like a SF.

The first guy is probably the more effective PF in most cases. His offense is probably good enough to eventually be a second scoring option for a NT caliber team at D3, though he'll be a bit of a defensive liability. Neither is an ideal low post defender/rebounder, but I probably prefer player 1, especially if you play zone, where his adequate block rating can be utilized to offset the low D.

I sort of feel that way also but I checked the rosters of some of the top D3 teams in Smith and there was a hodge podge of results. Some lean more REB/BLK/LP and others are using SF look alikes who are more athletic and balanced. Their guys are better overall but that's why they're top teams. And that's why I'm stuck.

That was obviously my reply to tec.

I do play zone and one big concern was a REB option.

Im assuming you're talking about your D3 team, which plays zone. That block advantage is significant in zone, and makes player 1 less of a liability.

I'm in a similar spot with a couple SGs I'm looking at for my D3 team (the reason I posted a poll yesterday). Both are below average ATH and DE, but very good PE. My dilemma was whether I want to sacrifice even more ATH and DE to go after the elite shooter, since one guy will likely get close to 100 PE, but no more than 30 ATH and DE.

I feel like you've got the same dilemma here, except we're looking at LP instead of PE as the major factor in the decision. I like that player 1 has the potential to be an elite LP scorer, but obviously you're sacrificing some ATH, all PE skills, and some WE to get it. So, I think player 2 could be more versatile if you need someone that can play 3/4, but if I'm looking for a strictly back to the basket PF who's gonna be a consistent scoring threat down low, I'm going with player 1.

Correct.

I think the WE is a biggest reason I'm hesitant to go P1. As I said, neither has to play more than 10-12 minutes this season. And I could prioritize PF next season in recruiting.

Not sure unless you give potentials for the other categories, unless I missed it while skimming the thread.

The only red are DU/ST for P1. Everything is black.

After checking the final potential ratings for each category for both players, I would probably lean towards PF#1. I wouldn't be overly concerned with a work ethic of 39, he should get very close, if not at max with his ratings by the middle to end of his senior season, assuming his WE can get up to the mid to upper 40s. Only exception would be his IQ might lag about 1/3rd of a grade behind from where the 57 WE would be if you ended up taking him. Considering PF#2's max rebounding potential is 47 and you need a PF that could be a potential problem.

I was going to say the low stamina might be a bit of an issue, but the fact that you run zone should help with that.

I would go with #2 because I like bigs who can pass some in Motion. Of course if players don't have ANY blue or green, I usually ignore them anyways.
