So yesterday I opened Tark's job change period list and noticed the Seattle job had just opened up. Seattle was an A- school with only one open scholly. The only higher-prestige school open in D2 was PR-Rio Piedras, at A/5 openings.

I applied for the Seattle job and waited patiently overnight. This morning I checked my email and saw a note that Seattle had chosen a different coach. No problem, it was a desirable job and I haven't played in Tark in like 10 seasons.

Since this job change wasn't reported in the News sidebar on the right side of the jobs screen, I went to look at who did get Seattle. irrev0cable got it. He's a good coach. I looked at his history and saw he'd moved over from Florida Tech, another good program (A-/3 openings). So I thought to myself "Florida Tech must be open now, I should check that out"

I looked at Florida Tech. Whoops, already taken. By.... the guy who coached PR-Rio Piedras last season. (Rio Piedras remains open.)

I also noticed that neither irrev0cable taking Seattle nor the Florida Tech job filling are reported in the News sidebar on the righthand side of the screen.

The circumstances around how/when the Florida Tech job filled seem goofy. What am I missing?

Hahahaha.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone in Tark can see the News log that shows the timing of when the jobs filled. I could be making something of nothing here, but it would be unusual for an A- job to fill as quickly as this one seems to have.

Didn't see any on my end all weekend

My news feed shows the Florida Tech job being filled at 2:08 am on 4/8 and the coach of Seattle leaving at 8:02 pm on the same day. It doesn't show the Seattle job being filled.

My guess is that irrev0cable forgot to renew his Florida Tech team and another coach immediately jumped on the opening. The news feed only seems to show coaches directly leaving one school for another. If irrev0cable was technically unemployed when he took the Seattle job it wouldn't show up in the news feed.

Thanks for looking it up slam. So what seemingly happened was irrev didn't renew, Rio Piedras coach moved immediately to Fla Tech, irrev then applied for the Seattle job as soon as it opened like the rest of us and appropriately won it on merit. So I was definitely missing something.
