Fastbreak/ Zone Topic

Since I am in the early rebuild phase I am thinking of switching my UNLV team from a Triangle/ Zone to a Fastbreak Zone...just because.

It seems not a lot, if any, owners run this combo, is the reason because the combo wouldnt work?

How bad would the team struggle compared to the Triangle? Am I completely off on who I recruited?

Lastly, would the fatigue created by the FB be offset by the Zone defense?

It's just a weird combo, kinda opposites, the Zone is meant to slow things down and allow you to play with 7-8 players, while Fastbreak is meant to speed things up. I have never tried it or heard anything about the combo, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Fastbreak seems to naturally fit in with press and triangle naturally fits in with Zone. The first combo requires deep, athletic, fast players. While the second requires few guys that each bring something to the table and they don't need to be well rounded.

I run Fastbreak/Zone on a couple teams. I do it because you can:

1. focus on ATH/SPD/DEF and still be a solid offensive team.
2. run uptempo and don't need 12 players.
3. rely on a high speed, perimeter player with average to below average def to be a main scorer
