I feel like I should be happy because 5 of these guys have my set offense as their primary and 4 have my defense as their primary; but can the big defensive potentials overcome the areas that are lacking?

I think you'll have found some studs and some career backups. It really depends on how much the greens go up. Overall, looks pretty nice.

Is it supposed to be a complete team?

You have a PG and some 2's and 3's but your post players are pretty lacking.

Looks like a solid motion/man team that won't rebound well.

Only time will tell, but with where you sit this morning, I'd be pretty excited if I were you.

IMO you focused a little too much defense and not enough offense. You're going to have to cross your fingers and hope those Green PER go way up. Finley might turn out to be that 3pt shooter but he's pretty slow and that WE is going to prevent him from contributing heavily to the offense until JR season at the earliest. Leonard is another option for 3pt threat but his starting speed and BH is also very low. By his JR season he will contribute.

Bilderback is a good defensive PG and will have okay ball skills and has potential but is also pretty slow. I say OK ball skills since he'll probably have a BH in the 60s for most of his career and that's not great for D2.

Defensively though, you are rock solid - hopefully you're playing M2M. I think it depends on how well these guys develop but most are not ready to contribute early so you'll probably struggle a bit until their junior seasons.

I think it's D3. If it's D2, your PG went from all conference to ok.

It's South Dakota. D2.

One more thing - I think Weisner is the odd man out in this group. He does nothing well except defend. He's a SF (too slow for SG IMO) but you already have that position covered with either Finley or Davis and both are more versatile and can contribute in more areas (scoring and rebounding). I'd look to cut him actually. You can get better at D2.

Oh, at D2 that changes things.

You have a serviceable PG (70 Speed, 75, BH, 80 Pass). He's certainly a starter. He's an okay scorere and a good defender but not a lock down defender. If his FT is reasonable he's a decent scorer. Love guys like that in motion, not great in flex, could be a very solid 2nd scorer in triangle, fine in press (I think, the speed might hamper him a bit there).

The other guys are really small forwards IMO, they are to slow and have to low BH to suceed in D2. I shoot for 70 as a minimum for those two for SG's. In many cases I want significantly higher. Those guys are gonna be TO machines against a decent press and you won't be able to maximize the 3's with the speed in the 60's.

You also have a major rebounding issue. You don't normally see 40+ growth in green rebounding so you are looking at likely maxes in the 65-75 range. That's GREAT for the 3 but bad for the 4 and 5.

You'll be able to beat up on some sims and make the NT in a weak conference with some smart scheduling but I don't think you make it past the 2md round of the NT if you have to play a reasonably competent human.

Just reading over things; totally agree with the rebounding. I am going to need to go heavy on that with the two seniors who leave next. Mabrey is going to be a 5th year Senior who will carry a bulk. I am not as concerned with winning next season and Bilderback was the last guy I signed; probably a reach. I didn't do as much actual scouting as I should have; I stretched the budget given the distance that some guys are away.
