Disclaimer: I know this won't actually happen. This is a just for fun discussion.
This might sound crazy but I think there should be MORE injuries in HD. This season on my Chestnut Hill team I've had 3 injuries in the first 10 games. None of the them were really that bad and I continued to play them with less than 100% health because I have no depth but I think it still impacted some of the game results.
So it got me to thinking about how injuries work in this game. I think it would be cool to have minor injuries happen more frequently. I'm not advocating for season ending injuries or injuries that keep a guy out for 4-6 games. Just little dings that are pretty common in basketball (twisted ankle, jammed finger, strained muscle, etc etc). I also think that the rate that they recover should be influenced by WE (rehabbing to get back healthy). The occurrence of an injury would be influenced by 1) durability 2) minutes played 3) Stamina (maybe. More likely fatigue in a game. something like that)
Here are the benefits I see to this -
1. Durability actually means something. Currently we just ignore this rating and doesn't influence if we recruit a player or not.
2. It would emphasize and reward depth. Teams running 9 man lineups who take walkons (myself included) would be running the risk that come tourney time they wouldn't be at 100% health and performance would be impacted.
