The damn thing caught up to real life. Our drafts are more crapshoot but we get to scout real life prospects so its still cool. But once a year...
So we restarted with a group of core owners and added a few new guys. Started at 1969. Tom Seaver went #1 again. Now we are up to 1980. Fun times.
A few of us need more. So, once again, we are starting over. But this time we'er going all old timey. 1901.
Some of these progressives fall apart after a few seasons. Not this one. Unless WWIII or Civil War II happen.
We took awhile to get this thing rolled out because we wanted to hammer out a few rules and draft details and all that good stuff. Took our sweet *** time, like a few months, and one guy pulled out.
We need one! You get the Boston Beaneaters, or whatever you want to call them. And its your pick! The #6 over all pick! Yay for you, you lucky SOB. The first few rounds are not going to be timed. This draft is too important to rush. At some point it will be on the clock with hour slots, not yet though.
Our league has a lot of talk. We also do a lot of trades. I think I made 20 or so in 1979 alone ( I had to turn over an old roster). If you like to wheel and deal this is for you.

1901 Rules so far. lol
1) DRAFT TO START THIS WHOLE GOSH DARN THING
We're going to use a third-round reversal snake draft.
Round 1 - 1-16
Round 2 - 16-1
Round 3 - 16-1
Round 4 - 1-16
Round 5 - 16-1
Round 6 - 16-1
and so on.
A lotto will determine the order of the draft. Ill do it live on facebook...
2) DRAFT LOTTO
All draft spots will be determined by record, except the first 6 picks. Those will be done by a lotto, with the worst team getting 6 balls, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 ball for the best of the lotto teams. The number of teams in the lotto is something that can change in the future.
The Lotto will take place soon after the trade deadline (game 120?) using the website www.draftpicklottery.com. The Draft Lotto will be held live on facebook live and announced before so you all can log on and watch the lotto if you so choose.

All results will also be posted on the forum as soon as the lotto is over.
3) TIE BREAKER
- if two or more teams have the same record after trade deadline (120?), run differential will be used to determine who gets the better pick.
4) WIN FLOOR
The win floor will start at 25 and change as we go if need be. Failure to reach the win floor will drop you out of the lotto. Your team must be at 25 wins by the trade deadline (120?).
5) KEEPERS
Will start at 12. Players that are on the IR will count as one of the 12 keepers.
5) IR/DL
- A team can up to and no more than 1 players on an IR list that can be carried over to the next season as a keeper.<br /> - Counts against your keeper limit (12).
6) NO DH- NO CAP - NO WW -
7) AAA 6/4 (made up are as bad as they get).
7) Draft off clock
At the trade deadline I will post the draft order and as soon as that happens the team with the first pick can start the draft but he must have his keepers in and not edit them after a pick is made. He can only draft first year players or players that are re-entering the draft after a missed season.
Once all keepers are in all players on the available player list are available.
If you make a mistake and draft the wrong guy it is okay to re-pick as long as no other players have been picked after the botched pick.
8) All time worst players
We are missing a lot of players. In real life in 1901 the avarage team used 9 pitchers per season and as little as 5. That will leave us lacking players. To combat this I have looked up the all time worst players and they will be available for draft every season. These guys are not allowed to be keepers and are just so we have enough players to fill the 25 man rosters.
