Quite frankly, I am a bit surprised by all the 2nd line deadball pitchers (Clarkson, Morris, Seward, Ferguson etc) being drafted so early. Two of those four weren't even drafted last season (Clarkson & Ferguson) and Morris was drafted fairly late (maybe 12th or 14th round by me). Perhaps some different strategies for many this time around.

I will say it again. I'm a hockey guy. not baseball but I love this draft. Babe Ruth is easy as #2 overall. However, I dont know what I was thinking when I picked Ernie Banks with my 2nd pick!

I gotta say...ledfoot is looking TOUGH. Three of his first four picks all hit .400+ and the only other guy, George Brett, hit .390!

Thanks amerk - I'm pretty happy with how things have fallen. I didn't have Browning on my radar but when my two picks went shortly before him and he kept dropping, I had to do some quick research. I reached a bit for Terry but he fits what I'm trying to do. As for Kauff, I had a list and the guys I had slotted kept getting taken. He was the last OF on my list for that round and he should be solid.

And EJ, I just read your message. I'll take that as a sign I'm in good shape at this early point of the draft. I've never drafted any of my current five so I'm not sure what to expect. Now if I can just find some pitching bargains at some point. By the way, I won't say which round, but I had my heart set on one that I was pretty sure I'd get and you grabbed him a few picks before me.

How often does anyone else make a pick, and within 15 mins instantly hate it and stare aimlessly at the guy you wish you picked?

LOL...not often but it does happen to me.

How about this one....are there certain owners who you just KNOW are going to take someone off your wish list almost every round? There certainly are for me. That list includes ledfoot, jbar, kelly1, ej and SpotSell. Not saying that those owners are better drafters than the others, just that it seems they have the same thought process as I do.
