i just took over a team 1 game before spring training ended.

The team currently has a defensive SS who won’t hit with defensive ratings of

91/82/93/89

The current listed CF will hit a ton but is below average with defensive ratings of

76/80/52/64

my current listed 3b will probably hit .240 with no power but defensive ratings of:

78/82/83/82

This teams defense was third from the bottom last year. I don’t want to end up in the same spot. I have looked through the minors and remaining free agents and don’t see anyone who has range/glove of 85+/85+ who can hit. I would much prefer not to be an AL team with defensive only players at SS & CF.

My thought is to move the current mashing guy who shouldn’t be at center elsewhere take the 3b and move him to SS and take the defensive SS and move him to CF.

how much am I giving up moving the 3b to SS to improve CF defense and hitting?

In the AL keep the defensive SS in place, make the 3B a guy to come in off the bench, make the CF either a RF or LF. Pick up another CF that can't hit but has glove and range over 85.

Without the pitcher hitting you can afford to have 2-3 dead spots in your lineup.

brendan Aven should do fine for your CF.
