Recruiting Timing Topic

Does the timing of recruiting actions make any diffetence? For example, asssuming you're in a battle for a recruit, is it to your advantage to give HV's early, or does the effect "wear off" over time? Should you save some for later, as a kind of boost? Or does credit remain the same no matter when you do the action?

I believe it is all the same except for wants to play. Offering the start/minutes early makes a difference. I may be completely wrong on this one.

If he has a "Wants to Play" preference, then you will want to offer a minutes promise as quickly as possible if you plan to trigger the preference as it will give a "boost" to all subsequent action. I'm not sure on the order of operations so I don't know if HV/CV's process before or after the promise so I always wait one cycle before offering those just to make sure the preference has been triggered.

Once offered though, credit remains the same (there is no "wear off" effect) UNLESS you remove a start or minutes promise (at which point the kid will tell you where to go and you've lost all hope of signing him). Informing of Redshirt can also cause you to slip backwards in status but is generally easy to overcome the effects of with a couple more HV's or so. And you can always undo it in a later cycle and recover the loss.

The redshirt deal you mentioned is not 100% accurate. I just dealt with this recently. At D2 i had no openings to begin with. And i aimed for a D2 international from start to finish of RS1. 440 total AP, and most importantly, no competition, and i was always very high. He had an early signing preference. I had a scholarship open up and i thought signing this guy was a slam dunk. So on the first cycle of RS2, i informed of redshirt, and spent all $5k i had in visits (not many because of the international distance), all in the same cycle. When it processed, i dropped to moderate and Sims galore jumped on (and some D3 humans). Next cycle i removed the "inform of redshirt", and i stayed at moderate and all of my recruiting actions were no longer unlocked, and were reduced to 50ish%. So the recovery you mentioned, never happened. I continued to add my now 40AP, but could never get back in the race, even tho he hung around for a few more cycles. If i had more cash to add visits, maybe things would've played out differently. And the fact it was an internationalmade it more difficult. It's also worth note that the recruit did NOT have a preference of "wants to play".

Moral of the story... I'm sure it can be done. But it's not always "easy"

"I don't know if HV/CV's process before or after the promise"

Seble has said that the promises process first.

OK, thanks to all. So if I HV 20 times all at once, and the other guy hv's 20 times spread out, all other things being equal, we'd be "tied" on the recruit? I'd get no bonus for HVing earlier?
