Need 1 for the 1981 Season Postwar League-filled ! Topic

The Post War League started with the 1946 season. We will soon be entering the 1981 season, our 36th season. This is a very stable league. 9 owners have been in the league for all 35 seasons

This is a 16 team league and since there were 26 major league teams in 1980 there is no shortage of players. The DH was adopted for both leagues starting in 1973.

Interested owners will be given immediate access to the league private forum, which contains complete league rules.

The team available is the Anaheim Angels, who are 54-43 with 65 games left in the 1980 season. They are currently tied for 2nd in the AL East Division, 4 games behind the Baltimore Orioles. The 1980 Roster for the Angels is posted below.

We have just started posting keepers for the 1981 season. The 1980 season ends on July 17 and I anticipate starting the 1981 season on approximately July 19.

The new owner may, of course, keep or cut all players on the list above.

The Angels will almost certainly be a winning team and very likely will contend for the playoffs in 1981.

The Angels have been taken, but I have also been running 2 teams for the 1980 season. Since I was able to find a new owner for the Angels so quickly, I have decided to also seek a new owner for one of my 2 teams.

My original team, the St. Louis Cardinals, is in a rebuilding mode currently so I have decided to seek a new owner for my other team, the Baltimore Orioles.

The Orioles are currently 63-43 (the best record in the entire league) with 56 games left in the 1980 season and lead the AL East by 3 games over New York and 4 games over Anaheim.

I have already posted keepers for the Orioles (it was my original intent to keep the Orioles for 1981 and I am still willing to do so). I will copy my suggested keeper list to the immediately following post. A new owner may make any changes desired to the keeper list.

The Orioles biggest need is at catcher-Keith Moreland is more of an outfielder than a catcher and Johnny Bench is a part time C/1B.Otherwise there are no significant holes in the lineup.

I'll take the Orioles if they're still available. Site mail sent.
