I had six openings and have signed five - all freshman - and I currently have an ineligible kid sitting out his freshman year. I'm the only offer for my sixth kid (also a freshman) but he hasn't signed yet - wondering if it's because the ineligible kid already on my roster is counting towards that frehsman class and putting me over the limit of 6 in a single class. is that true? I had thought when a kid sits out, he becomes eligible as a "sophomore" even though it's his first year....and then a 5th yr senior after his "sr" year. thoughts? thx.

Are you at or past the point in recruiting that he wants to sign? As in, he doesn't have a late signing preference does he?

No he'll be listed as a sophomore next year so you should be able to sign 6. Do you have a freshman redshirted? That would stop you from being able to sign your 6th recruit.

thanks guys - u were right piman - he ended up signing. I had an ineligible on the roster - butnot a redshirt - so I had thought those were treated differently but wasn't sure. thanks for the answers fellas.
