Just had a first for me, had a player selected as a 1st Team All American who only made 2nd team All Conference. Is this unusual? Does it mean that during the time conference awards came out to when national awards came out, my player surpassed the 1st team All Conference guy in whatever metrics the game uses to determine awards? I would assumed the game uses the same formula to determine all Americans as it does all conference players, so this is the only conclusion I can think of.

As as you would assume, the player who was 1st team All Conference (who was also conference POY), was a 2nd Team All American.

I believe conference awards only factor in conference play, while all American includes non con.

Yup

I won national coach of the year but not conference coach of the year a few seasons ago in Tark. I don’t even know what goes into coach of the year.

Conference coach is win improvement over the previous season. Nationalal is just wins and then rank.

Improvement over the prior season is probably the biggest factor for ccoy. For that reason it’s not uncommon to see a coach that went 12-4 in conf play get ccoy over a coach that went 16-0 or 15-1.
