Just curious if anybody else had one tonight? My conference is all Sims. I've been pounding teams as expected. I rarely make changes against sims unless needed.

but tonight's game.... 64 point favorite, playing against a 3-12 sim with an rpi in the 260's.... and i lose by 5. Haha. Feel free to try to tell me i did something wrong. But no one will convince me. But i know sometimes bad sims happen.

I'd love to flip out and get all mad and crazy, but it's not worth the time. I'm one of the top teams in the country.

Definitely feeling you there...that team had horrible Ath and Spd for a D2 team (hell, for a D3 team!!). You definitely got on the wrong side of an outlier result there...fortunately "just" a regular season game.

Weirdest result of my sim tonight was my boys shot < 39% from the FT line...which was worse than our percentage from behind the three-point arc when people presumably were guarding us. But we also got the ?W?

That Slippery Rock team is a nice looking bunch, for sure.

Thank you. I'm short on LP for triangle. Which is the only thing keeping me from a confident run at my first title shot. I've beat good teams this season. So I can definitely contend. Maybe make somewhat of a deep run. LP and lack of "win now" depth are my flaws

The crazy thing is about that game, at least to me, is my SF freshman that I promised a start, he fouled out quickly. And although I had my only other freshman backing him up, it would seem that my other starters would carry that load. But oh well.

And lucky for you, that 39% FT was on 18 attempts. And not 38.

Usually not that extreme, but yeah, bad sims happen. You got smacked by the ugly stick. #FUWIS

That's turrable. I didn't have a bad sim this season, but I did have a C ft shooter shoot 48% on the year.

I only won by five last night against a 15 seed in the NT, so I feel your pain with the bad sims.

That's not "good" or anything. But I'd take it. At least at NT level. At that point, a win is a win. At least for me. You're still moving on.

Another thing that irks me, is that the worst team in my conference shredded my defense. It's not like I had an offensive off night. It was a press team. So if I had a zillion turnovers and shot 30% FG, that would be easy to see what happened. But the opponent shot 53% against my defense. With my team having a 63 average, i'm top 15 as far as the defensive attribute. And higher in metrics. Top 3 in Team Speed, and I think Top 12 in ATH. Where as the opponent has a 35 ATH team rating and 43 SPD.... BOTH dead last in our terrible conference!

how would an offensive explosion come from that????

"We pick ourselves up, and we move forward. Learn from our mistakes. We take this new found anger, and feed off of it for the rest of our quest to the final four!"

I know you’re not asking for advice or explanations, but one thing popped into my head when I looked at the box score after your last post about how they can shred your defense... this doesn’t explain the result - at all - but going uptempo against obviously weaker opponents is usually a good idea. An answer to the question of how a weak team can “shred” your defense is that they got lucky. The more possessions in a game, the less luck will matter. It could be that you were going to get screwed either way, but one way to address the possibility that your opponent can just go lights out is to maximize the number of possessions. Try to run them into the ground. Again, not foolproof, especially on the road against a press. But their press is pretty weak, as you noted, so uptempo may have helped.

Maybe.

I agree that is possible. I've went uptempo a couple games this season, and i haven't liked the results. Against this all sim conference, any changes are possible to try. Overall i just haven't loved my depth. I just got the shaft this game. And i'm not really even mad about it. Just sharing thoughts. I was mad when I first saw this morning i was mad. But I got over it real quick.

I've never had a sim that was THAT bad happen to me, but I've lost games against SIM AI press teams where I'm a 15-20 point favorite despite having a much better roster. I don't run in to this with users who run the press, but for some reason I've had a lot of randomness occur when facing a SIM AI with FCP.
