Has anyone ever been accepted for a job they're a long shot for? I'd like to move up to D1 as soon as I can, but right now I'm only listed as a long shot for about a dozen or so jobs, so I'm wondering if it's even worth it to apply for any of these jobs.

I think I got one a really long time ago, but I may be wrong. I have failed to get them probably 30 times. It won't hurt anything to apply though.

Like Chapel said, it never hurts to apply. But I've never gotten a Longshot job. What that does tell you, though, is you're probably one more good season (NT bid) away from qualifying for those jobs.

I got turned down for the one job of those that I was somewhat interested in, so I'll just wait it out for at least another season I should have a NT caliber team, so hopefully I'll be qualified for those (or better) jobs after next season.
