He's a 22-year-old. His status is... "Looking for a guaranteed MLB contract. If not, he'll probably play indy ball for a season and take his chances next draft."
If I took him and paid him, would the money for this season come out of the prospect payroll or player payroll? (I ask because I'm already up against it on player payroll, although I could afford the usually $360k for a first-year MLer). And what sort of annual money would he be demanding? I have the seventh pick in the draft.
