Is there a benefitting reason behind this, that I don't know about? I'm just curious why someone would want to do that. I would think it would be much easier to avoid this. Also better for your street cred in having one profile have all your wonderful stats and history of success, collectively (if that matters to you).

For coaches that take over a family members ID, or an ID of a coach that bails, I get that. But I can't see myself thinking... hmmmm, today i'm gonna create another profile. Making logging in and out more time consuming.....

And an even better question that's unrelated, do any of you know if any coaches in this game happen to be female?!

The last female i remember was really cool, funny in the Coaches Corner, and i think used to post here in the forums. This was when i first started playing, so it would've been Crum World, in the mid-60's or so. She was in the Little East I'm pretty sure, and the conference was at least half full. I used to schedule several Little East schools in non-conference. That was a fun era in HD.

fanon was at Framingham, and is now at New Hampshire.
43tj was at Fitchburg, and is now at Virginia after a great Wofford run.
reigny showed up to struggle at Southern Maine.
dougjohnson was at Plymouth.
jskrzyp was at Bridgewater.
i was at Albertus Magnus in the GNAC, competing with them for recruits.

Funny stuff. Oddly enough, I've been trying to get my mom interested in it. She's one of those people that's pushing 60, looks like she's 40 and runs around like a 30 year old. She's more active in the social world than I am!

She's also a business whiz, when it comes to numbers. And I introduced her to fantasy football years back and she loves it and has won our league a couple of times. I try to get her interested in this, and she actually loves everything about it, except for the amount of time she'd have to invest to get good at it. She's a busy woman.

But i think the chances are high that she'll try it one day. Even if it's just a season or two. That's not the reason I asked that question. But your response did trigger this response

To answer yoyour question aboabou multiple ID's, under this new system there is no real benefit unless you want to be the cool guy with one team and the total A/s/sJack with the other team. Back in the old days though it was a different story with regards to Recruiting and doing the Scouting Service. One team of a multiple team person could do the old version of the Scouting Service and have the values for every team he owned. The recruiting budget was different also, so you could save money and throw more at players and basically outbid someone else. I think that was one of the reasons we have Hoops version 3.0 now.

I’m retiring the pkoopman for now. I took over this one when my son bailed, and I have to drop a couple teams with classes coming up in a few weeks; student again for the first time in 15 years. Those two teams just made the most sense.

Unless you’re trying to cheat, it’s kind of a pain to have two teams in the same world, avoiding conflicts of interest, and recruiting overlaps. I handicapped myself at Abilene Christian, never even scouting internationals to avoid the appearance of shenanigan.

I suspect a lot of people open another ID to take advantage of a special offer here and there. In fact, I suspect a lot of new IDs were created to use the SportsHub coupon for a 10-pack. Can’t fault someone for that.

Not true. You could use your D1 team to scout the entire country for your D3 team. That's a pretty big advantage.

But regarding multiple IDs, it makes most sense for people with more than 10 teams or those who only play 2x worlds. But it probably causes more problems than it's worth IMO. You have nerds out there who hide their alt IDs and lie about it.

I've had as many as 3 IDs, both extra ones created so that I could keep a lower-division team and move up in the same world back when I cared about d3 but was also interested in trying higher levels. Never found it hard to not cheat-- I'd scout wherever I was in the world, look at those players, and recruit. Of course, under 2.0 you couldn't get d1 recruits at d3, so...

Debated making a second ID to maintain my favorite D2 spot when I moved onto D1. Never did though, due to 1st world problem of juggling two accounts and their passwords which way too much work for me. Since the majority of my login credentials are saved on my phone and inserted automatically whenever I need to log in.
