Heinie Stoffel of FYC's Santa Fe Bombers just saw his hitting streak reach 55 games, which prompted the question in the World Chat of "I wonder what the HBD record is?"

Has anyone seen, or know of, a longer streak than the one he's got cooking right now?

That is the highest I know of. I am in three pretty long standing leagues (seasons 46, 40, and 37). The longest hitting streak I see is 37 games.
