At D2 when you recruit an ineligible, there’s a chance he’ll come on the team and sit out a year, or a chance he’ll decide not to come at all, right?

Is there anything in player preferences that gives an indication of how his decision might go?

The more effort you put in, the more likely he is to show up at campus. Usually I send them a few HVs and promise them some minutes (even though they won’t play).

If you are D2 recruiting D2 ineligible, he will rarely go JUCO. If you are recruiting a D1 and fail to wow him with AP points, he will go JUCO. You need to show your love. Also remember, if he is given promises and he is still ineligible and shows up, the promise will not stick for that first year. But if he becomes eligible after you sign him, you may be stuck with promises you never intended to follow through on. Just watch out.
