I have 2 players in the final year of their contract, but do not appear in my list of available Free Agents for next season. They don't appear either for my team or for all available free agents. Both of these players were acquired via trade this season. I thought it might have something to do with that. But I do have a 3rd player acquired by trade who does appear. I'm probably missing something real easy, but why can't I negotiate with them?

He’s also only a AAAA guy, not an everyday player.

Maybe the fastest ever, tho. A good 3B backup to add during expansion.

96/96 is nice to have on the bench. There's a player in one of my leagues, 89 Baserunning and 100 Speed, averages 110 SB per season with only 3 or 4 CS.

i would play Prieto to come off the bench in the late innings as a corner fielder - 3B/1B/LF/RF - no problem at all......Sportsbulls, there is a place for anyone. it all depends on how one looks at their rosters.

I guess he could be a pinch runner or pinch hitter against righties. Just don’t see him getting on base enough for those speed numbers to make an impact.

I agree with your evaluation of Prieto. Due to a season-ending injury to my Gold Glove CF, I’ve actually been starting him there, and he hasn’t hurt me too bad. I have a largely GB pitching staff. He gets pulled for defense, of course. I Value defense, especially up the middle, as much as anyone, but he’s my best option.

His 47 starts at SS were also DL-related. But, yah, pretty dreadful. He has played a nice 2B. Glad to have him.

Id find someone to trade him to or bench him. He would never play ss, cf or 2nd for me.

I agree. I could play him at 2B in a pinch, but definitely not SS or CF.
