My friend and I were talking the other day, and momentum came up in our conversation. Does momentum have an effect on games? If a team is on a 5 game winning streak, against a team on a 5 game losing streak, and the teams are identical, does the momentum have an effect?

I feel like there is momentum in real life.

In real life, it’s like value in the stock market. It’s an imaginary concept that has real impact because lots of people think it’s real. Insert Crash Davis quote here.

Doesnt exist in the sim, as far as I know.

Definitely not. Atleast I hope not. Every game is an independent event. Prior games and their result's should have no effect on the outcomes of other games.

There is no momentum between or within games. Each possession is handled in a vacuum. That is, unless Seble significantly changed something and didn't tell us. And that feels extremely unlikely. Adding reasonable, believable momentum would be a significant programming challenge. You'd only do it if you perceived it to be a significant feature, and if you perceived it to be a significant feature you'd advertise it.

So I think it's safe to say that things are still as Tarek initially programmed them in this respect - no momentum, ever.
