For the Rule 5 draft, how do we know what pitchers are considered SP vs RP (for the max number settings)?

I always thought there position was based on what the previous owner set it at so it was just window dressing.

Instead of getting that specific, if there are, for example, five players you are targeting, just move them up to the top five positions on your draft board, in order, and then specify how many players you possibly want to take (like two, for example). That way, you don't have to worry about whether the pitcher is classified as a starter or reliever.

If I only want one of each category then that doesn't work. There should be a way to tell if the guy is considered an SP versus an RP.

This. You need to some work going through your draft board and move the guys you are targeting up to the top. You can't count on your settings to give you Rule 5 guys that will be worth a ****.

If I have three Ps on my list and only want to end up with 1-2 of them it helps to know which ones simmy considers SPs versus RPs. Here's what admin said:

"It's based on a combination of Durability and Stamina from the projected ratings. Starters are Stamina >= 50 and Durability between 15 and 45."

Then specify you only want two. You likely aren't getting everyone you rate, so you may end up with only one or even none. Just rank your guys. And 50 stamina isn't a starter. I consider 60 to be a floor unless you are doing tandem starters.

You're missing the point. If I want only 1 SP and 1 RP, and want them to come from a list of three pitchers I'm willing to draft, I need to know how the system defines SPs vs RPs. How you personally define them is irrelevant here, it's what the system considers them during drafts that matters.

I don't bother with specifying positions. I just find how many players I am interested in, rank them, then decide the max number of players I want to draft and list them as Any. If I want a SP and a RP, I rank one of each very high.

I put people in the any spot and TRY to make sure not to go over whom I have ranked.

I believe the sim determines it based on Stam and Dur. Guys with <35 dur with >60 Stam are starters, guys with >50 dur and <50 Stam are relievers. Anyone with less than 50 of both are also relievers

So how did your Rule 5 draft turn out?

My boys done got sweeped up first.

Stop winning so many games and they may let you draft earlier. That's all your fault.
