I don't think I've seen this discussed before, but are there off days programmed into the SIM in terms of player rest? I know there aren't any in the actual schedule, but I'm thinking for playoffs - would players get the equivalent of a game's rest between games 2 & 3 and 5 & 6 of a seven-game series? It also seems that players get an energy bump after random games during the regular season.

There are no "travel days" in the playoffs, so players do not get rest between games where park changes occur. In the playoffs and TOC, teams will get rest if they clinch their series in fewer games than their next opponent clinched theirs. For example, a team that sweeps the LCS 4-0 will be credited three days of rest if their World Series opponent won the LCS in a seven game series 4-3.

There are no random energy bumps at any time. All rest is programmed for specific instances only.

Seems odd that players who accumulate, say, 162 games played would do so in real life over ~180 days but in the SIM they’re fatigued as if it’s 162 straight days. But maybe that’s factored in to the fatigue model already.

Yes, it's factored in by the 10% bonus to PA and pitches before fatigue has any potential effect at all.

It always seems to me that the All-Star break provides some rest. I've noticed my pitching staff particularly seems to freshen up then.

Yes, 1 day of rest is provided at the All Star Break.
