Cap on players leaving after a season? Topic

I feel like I've read it somewhere in the past, but is there a cap on the number of players you can lose after a season? For example, if I lose 4 players (three graduating seniors and a walk on), and also happen to have 3 player all "likely going" early in the draft... is it possible to lose all 7? For some reason I swear I've seen you can't lose more than 6.

Its set up to fck you as much as possible so the walk on doesn't count.

So yes you can lose all 6.

That’s pretty funny. I’ve never heard of a real life kid (since the allowance of early entries) being told he can’t declare for the draft because it would do too much damage to his team. The system goes out of its way to unrealistically protect teams from losing too much value, and here folks complain about being “fcked” when players that are obviously good enough to leave early actually leave early.

Determining whether and when a player will be good enough to get drafted is a skill, and is a vital part of player evaluation. If you suck at it, you should not be protected from the consequence of sucking (ie losing players you are not ready to lose and/or replace).

IMO, the maximum loss rule should be eliminated. Every player should make a determination on his own, with probability based on where he is on the draft board, with no consideration of what else is happening on his team.

if you are worrying about this, keep in mind that in addition to ignoring walkons the rule also ignores 1 year transfer players.
