State of the Union? Topic

Thoughts?

Did anyone actually watch it?

Not I. Was anything of importance said?

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
Abrams did pretty good, I thought.

Trump "tRiEd tO bE bIpArTiSan"

But that ended real quick.

I stopped watching after Obama's second or third. The constant standing ovations make me sick to my stomach no matter who's doing them.

I am biased but it was touching when he had Holocaust survivors there with US soldiers who freed them side by side. For some reason the Democrat women, wearing white didn't stand up and cheer right away?

I listened to it on the radio. All of it. I was nauseated. The chants of USA made me want to puke. Is Congress a bunch of drunken frat boys at the Olympic bobsled arena?? What??

I heard no truth. The truth is, the State of our Union is in peril. Both from within and without but especially from within.
We are drifting toward an implosive split (like 1860-61) and it's being egged on and encouraged by the mole heading our Government and the puppets who control his actions. And they are definitely not American Patriots. They are our enemies wishing to destroy our Republic.

And we blindly chant USA USA as if we were somehow in control of some game.
Folks, I assure you, You and I ain't in control of anything!!

We've ceded our authority and thus our control through our willful ignorance.
Turn OFF Fox news!

I would honestly rather read a good bags poem even more than a Frost. So eloquent.

I watched the first 30 minutes and decided I had seen enough. Trump had some good moments...as he often does when he actually tries to act Presidential. Sadly, he doesn't try very often.

I do wish I would have seen the Abrams rebuttal. That could have had some comedic value to it.
Abrams was really good. She's probably one of the best speakers on the left right now.

I've only listened to the first two minutes, but in that span it seems that she did a great job.

Trump uses the SOTU to say investigations should end.

Never heard that before:

“I would like to add a personal word with regard to an issue that has been of great concern to all Americans over the past year. I refer, of course, to the investigations of the so-called Watergate affair.

“As you know, I have provided to the special prosecutor voluntarily a great deal of material. I believe that I have provided all the material that he needs to conclude his investigations and to proceed to prosecute the guilty and to clear the innocent.”

“I believe the time has come to bring that investigation and the other investigations of this matter to an end. One year of Watergate is enough.”

Well, she started strong and then it turned into partisan bullshit.
