Are there some tips on how to best set this up to get the most out of the pitchers? All I really know how to do at this point is set the pitch limits. Do shorter pitcher counts mean they are more effective for the time they do pitch? Does a certain type of pitcher succeed with large or small pitch counts? Any advice would be appreciated.

Many years ago a veteran player came up with a formula of Stamina * 1.3 gives you the "optimal" max PC.

I'm much lazier, so I typically simply add STA and DUR for my MAX and try to hit 20 over his STA for a "target".

If their DUR is below 20 I back it down a bit, or more ideally use them at LR.

There is such a thing as in-game fatigue, so if a player is under performing , sometimes bringing his PC down will help...

I do the complete opposite basically, I take Stam and multiply by (Dur / 100) like as a percentage. So if a guy has 80 Dur and 25 Stam I set max PC to 20. If Dur is 65 and Stam is 38, I set max PC to 25. 30 Dur and 30 Stam is Max PC 10.

This allows for your best relief guys to pitch 2 out of every 3 games, possibly 3 out of every 4. IMO it is better for the best guys to impact more games for a shorter time than fewer games for a longer time. The latter is more wasteful, you want your guys to stay fresh and be available. I try to maximize their IMPACT as opposed to maximizing their raw Innings Pitched volume

I also set every single reliever to Target PC {none} because it let's your skipper yank after a single plate appearance when necessary. I only set Max PC for relievers

...for long relievers I lengthen them a bit because you kinda only need them if you're winning big or losing big, or in extras. So regardless of Dur, for Stam 45 I do PC 25, for Stam 60 I do PC 30, for Stam 75 I do PC 45, for Stam 90+ I do PC 60 or PC 75

I guess I should have clarified the part when I said:

"so I typically simply add STA and DUR for my MAX and try to hit 20 over his STA for a "target". If their DUR is below 20 I back it down a bit".

Was strictly concerning SPs.

Sorry Vitamin, my bad.

I do 4-man rotation instead of 5-man, so my starters' pitch counts are much tighter than many peoples'. I rely on bullpen more than others. Pitching changes can be advantageous

1st, my record is not great, (so maybe this advice is bad), but I have had the most difficulty with this game as it relates to Sim logic and my settings or relief pitching; so what I have recently been trying to do is stock my starting rotation with guys that can go deep into games hence not as much relief needed. I also like some of the advise above and will be trying to use it (optimum pitch count calculations) to see if that helps me.
