Offensive Rebounding Topic

I typically have teams with above average to good Def and High FG%. Both of these things negatively impact offensive rebounding differential. The more shots they miss, the more opportunities for off reb they have and the reverse is true for me. But my question is, are thre any ratings or settings that specifically and distinctively enhance or hinder offensive rebounding (as oppose to rebounding as a whole)? Or is it just what I started the post with?

It may that I only notice it when I get killed in 2nd chance points, but...I feel I frequently win the rebounding battle and get killed on the offensive glass

Defensive positioning and IQ (offensive for offensive boards and defensive IQ for defensive rebounding) come to mind. I’m sure fatigue plays a role as well.

Interesting topic. ATH and REB go hand in hand. Also who takes the majority of your shots on off. If your LP players are taking more shots and are you best rebounders than less off rebounding. Intersting about IQ, didn't know IQ affected reb. I wish they had a setting where you could choose either crash boards or get back on def.

IQ affects everything in the game. Literally. The intelligence of a player in an offensive set, helps players know where to be on the floor. When it comes to shooting 3s, IQ helps because the player knows where the pass is coming from, and where to position himself to catch and shoot. Rebounding is the same. The player is essentially learning how to box out better. How to get around an opposing player while fighting for position.

I doubt it's that detailed. But that's the basis of IQ and how to picture its effects. Smarter players perform better across the board. The only thing I would be unsure if IQ actually affects or not, would be the non core type of categories. FT shooting, stamina, and durability.

If IQ were to help FT shooting, maybe it would be considered as in the clutch? Crunch time FTs? But I don't know that to be true. And I don't see how it could effect ST or DU in any way. Nor would it matter much if it did.

I asked in a developer chat one time and they said rebounding is affected by:
ath
reb
mainly

and
the type of defense/offense
defensive setting
iq
fatigue

It’s an opposed role, your score vs opponents score.

i don’t believe there is any specific skill or setting that offensive rebounding using differently than defense.

I had a guy once that had 8 offensive rebounds in one game, yet he only scored 4 points on 3 shots. If i have a big guy that gets an offensive rebound, i want him to go back up with it, right? Well, his offensive distribution was set very low that game, so i am assuming that is the reason he didn't take more shots??? Anyone have any other thoughts on this?
