WTF - Noah Jones shoots over the doubleteam and knocks in the jumper from the right side on a nice dish by Anthony Walker!

Good move on your part. I gave up doing that a long time ago. I used to do it just to look at the last couple of minutes of a game. All it did it was get me frustrated. Its not worth it.

That being said, there's no player on your roster that could confidently defend Noah Jones one-on-one.

Yep. That's why I double-team him. But not OFF the ball.

The last 2 minutes is no bueno either. I once lost a game when a guard missed a 15 foot fadaway and tipped-in his own miss!

I'm stupid. What's wrong with this?

My first thought too. Extremely offensive players and/or players with extremely good match-ups will often have a good game even with a double.

In real life you don’t double team a player without the ball. You might sag on the weak side of the defense, but that is not the same as a double team.

If he scored on the “nice dish”, then it insinuates that he was being doubled team prior to the pass, which is not realistic.

I've never thought "nice dish" meant the player getting the pass was being doubled prior to the pass.

It was my understanding that "Always" meant every time the player had the ball and "If Leading Scorer" meant when the player had the ball and was the leading scorer.

So this is wrong?

EDIT: And in terms of how the sim engine handles doubling, doesn't it just lower the probability of the doubled player scoring and raise the probability of the other four undoubled players scoring?

You're reading a lot into "nice dish."

The edit yes it does.

I usually read nice dish as a guy passing out of traffic or through traffic. For me this play would seem like Walker was driving or down near the lane area on the left side and passed it to Jones on the right. Since Jones was inside the three point line another defender was easily able to get there for the double team. Jones caught it, maybe took a couple dribbles, and then went up for the jumper making the basket. Jones was fresh coming out of the locker room after halftime and there was still over 18 minutes left in the game so he would have been tougher to stop than if he was fatigued.
