I'm trying a 2 game a day league and would like to move up to a D1 team there as soon as I can. I'm in D3 now. Is there a difference between the teams I could choose from during the job period and those I could choose at the start of the next season if I don't renew (other than changes during the job period)? In other words, is there any advantage to either period as I have to renew to see available jobs during the season but then I can't quit and see if there are better jobs at the start of the next season?

There will be fewer available jobs at the start of the season than during the job change period. The benefit of taking a job during the job change period is that you can recruit during the second session and hopefully sign a decent recruit or two.

The only reason I could see waiting to renew is on the off chance a top D2 coach decides at the last minute to jump to D1. I did that once, where I applied for a job during the last cycle and no other user had been a chance during the job change period to grab my A+ D2 program. Probably pretty rare though.

Going back to this question, I am thinking about picking up a team in Rupp D1. I have a weak record in Rupp from a long time ago, so not all teams are available to me. My goal for this team is to win a championship with a zone team, as Rupp is the last world I have not won a title in, with this ID (did win one there with Billy_Graham. And I have never won a title with Zone. So, I would prefer to start with the best possible team. Right now no Big 6 or even mid majors are available to me. Do you think there will be one during Job Change?

Never played along side you in conference. Come join the WCC when you can! We had a nice stretch of seasons finishing in the top 3 conference RPIs. Then we lost a few elite coaches along the way (benis, darnoc, grew others), and the Pac 10 started to push their weight on us. We could use an elite coach addition.
