I've seen that spring training influences rating development.

Is this only applicable to young players or do veterans also need to play to stave off decline?

I had a vet I did not play decline a bit during ST a long time ago. So I've always gotten my best ML players into at least a few ST games.

Games seem to matter more than at bats, but I wouldn't put a big bet on that.
