I need some explanation on how this is generated. If there are 4 different groups, the owners ranked 1-16 should be the top 4 ranked owners in those 4 groups (Of course I'm using myself as an example bc that's the 1st one I looked at). Such as theme 1- In group 5, the 15th overall ranked owner is 5th highest ranked owner in group D, whereas the 17th ranked owner is the 4th highest ranked owner in group A. I dont understand that.... The #15 ranked owner (me) has the 5th best owner ranking in their own group 4 times and the 4th best twice (and in 1 of those 2, the 5th ranked owner is the #16 overall owner). In theory, being ranked 15th overall should ensure you're the 4th best owner in each of your groups... At least that's how I see it. Not complaining so much; just looking for an answer that makes sense.

I believe that's how the groups started (schwarze can confirm), but they've gotten slightly distorted over the years due to needing to move people around to be commissioners. Even if I reset them manually this year, they'd still be distorted due to needing to assign commissioners to separate leagues.

All leagues are now available.

This is correct. I had random groups of four, so theoretically, the top 16 ranked owners would be spreads into four divisions. Then next four would be split into four divisions, etc. But there would always be some tweaking going on in order to get the commissioners to work out. Giving the top 16 a quick glance, I see that...

Only 3 of the top 16 are 1-A (but #17 is in 1-A)
Only 3 of the top 16 are in 2-B (but #17 is in 2-B)
Only 3 of the top 16 are in 3-B (but #17 is in 3-B)
Only 3 of the top 16 are in 4-B (but #17 is in 4-B)
Only 3 of the top 16 are in 5-C (the next ranked 5-C is #21, but #23 and #24 are also 5-C)
League 6 is equally split (4 each A, B, C, D in the top 16)

I ran a query on each owner and their respective leagues. The highest (easiest) is 48.92. The lowest (hardest) is 48.06. That's a pretty close spread. 69 of the 96 owners are between +/- 0.2 of the average (i.e., between 48.30 and 48.70).

The real "luck of the draw" comes when the divisions within each league are randomly assigned. There's nothing that will prevent the top 3 or 4 owners in a league to be placed in the same division. It's all dumb luck. ozomatli will do a division analysis once everybody has entered and the divisions are aligned.
